# drumr® > Enterprise apps your coding agent gets right. ## What is drumr? drumr is a model-driven TypeScript framework for building enterprise applications with AI coding agents. Developers (and their agents) declare data models and actions once; drumr supplies the GraphQL API, MCP tools, permissions, durable workflows, and UI. The framework is licensed Apache 2.0. The public repository and npm packages launch with the first drumr Harness; until then the framework is available through early access at https://www.drumr.ai. ## Core concept drumr sits on Express, TypeORM, Apollo GraphQL, and DBOS and replaces the wiring between them with one declarative layer. A higher level of abstraction means fewer decisions for a coding agent to get wrong: agents produce idiomatic, well-structured apps from short prompts, and reviews stay short. ## Framework features - **Data models**: `@DataModel` classes with 25 field types (TextField, ChoiceField, MoneyField, RelationshipField, VectorField, …). Validation, persistence, and schema come from the declaration; migrations are an explicit TypeORM chain scaffolded by the CLI. PostgreSQL in production, SQLite for local development. - **Actions**: typed `ObjectAction` classes with declarative preconditions, executed in database transactions with optimistic locking. - **GraphQL API + typed SDK**: generated for every model and action; filters and relationship traversal included. - **MCP server**: actions marked `api: ['mcp']` become permission-filtered MCP tools behind OAuth 2.1. - **Durable workflows**: `@Workflow`, `@Step`, and queues on DBOS. - **Security**: Google, Microsoft, Auth0, or local login; MFA; fine-grained permissions; sensitive fields encrypted at rest. - **AI agents in your app**: `@Agent` classes using actions as tools, human-approval steps, built-in evaluation (LLM judges, trajectory checks). - **Layered frontend**: typed SDK → headless React hooks → Ant Design components → full scaffold. - **Operations**: OpenTelemetry tracing, audit trail, distributed locks, keyword/vector/hybrid search. - **CLI (`@drumr/cli`)**: `drumr create-app`, `setup`, `run`, `infra up`, `tests open`, `cloud deploy` (Google Cloud via Pulumi). ## Built for coding agents - 50+ drumr agent skills ship with the framework and are installed into every app by `drumr setup`. - Every new app gets a generated AGENTS.md. - Works with any coding agent: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and others. Skills are plain files in the repo. ## drumr harnesses (coming soon, commercial) - **drumr Harness**: a general orchestrator for coding agents building drumr apps — spec, clarify, plan, tasks, build, verify, document — producing code, tests mapped to acceptance criteria, and documentation. - **Vertical harnesses**: the drumr Harness plus domain expertise. LIMS (laboratory information management) first, then Manufacturing. The framework is free and open source (Apache 2.0); harnesses are paid. ## Technology - Language: TypeScript; Runtime: Node.js - Underlying frameworks: Express, TypeORM, Apollo GraphQL, DBOS; frontend React + Ant Design - License: Apache 2.0 (the license grants no rights to the drumr name or logo) - Packages: @drumr/backend, @drumr/frontend, @drumr/cli ## Who builds drumr? drumr is built and stewarded by Slingr (https://slingr.io), a services company that builds and runs enterprise apps on drumr. drumr® is a registered trademark of Idea2 Ltd. (dba Slingr). ## Comparison context drumr is in the same category as NestJS, RedwoodJS, Blitz.js, and Wasp, but works at a higher level of abstraction (decorator-based models, generated API/MCP/UI, built-in permissions and workflows) and is designed first for AI coding agents. ## Links - Website: https://www.drumr.ai - Full content for agents: https://www.drumr.ai/llms-full.txt - Homepage as Markdown: https://www.drumr.ai/index.md - Built by: https://slingr.io
